SAVE THE DATE - EVENT - MBJH and Junior Spartan PTO will host national speaker Josh Ochs Sept. 11-12 to work with students, parents, and teachers on ways to be safe and positive online. This is Josh’s second visit to Mountain Brook after speaking in 2016 as a part of All In Mountain Brook’s speaker series. Josh is the founder of Smart Social, a company dedicated to helping students “learn how to shine online.” He has spoken in 25 different states and is known for his positive approach to managing social media. His techniques help students use their devices with a purpose, not just to pass time. Furthermore, he shows students how to impress colleges and employers by creating a positive resume using their social media accounts. Josh also speaks to thousands of parents each year to help them overcome their frustrations with screen-time addiction and social media safety.
Josh will speak to parents Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6:00 (location details coming soon). He will then lead a student assembly the next day at MBJH before closing with helpful tools for the MBJH faculty. Families will also have an opportunity to sign up for a free one-year subscription to his Smart Social newsletter, as well as participate in follow-up online sessions to learn more details on how to create a positive online presence. More information may be found at www.smartsocial.com. Also click here to see a customized video from Josh that describes the content for his parent forum!
